In a very real sense, the Lambda Chi creates a family relationship among its members. It aims to bring together a group of young men who will be congenial, loyal, and helpful to one another during some of the best years of their lives-the college years. Thus Lambda Chi Alpha offers its members the nearest possible equivalent to home that can be found on the college campus, and these close ties often bind men in friendships for life.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was founded at Howard University in Washington, DC January 9th, 1914 by three young African American male students. The founders, Honorable A. Langston Taylor, Honorable Leonard F. Morse and Honorable Charles I. Brown wanted to organize a Greek-letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the high ideals of brotherhood, scholarship and service. On April 4, 1990, the Alpha Alpha Delta Chapter was chartered on the campus of University of Nebraska at Omaha.

We believe in the importance of virtue and commit to living the values of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. We recognize that truth is the foundation of all lasting association, and we will seek wisdom and knowledge while serving others in modesty and dignity. Pi Kappa Alpha will set the standard of integrity, intellect, and achievement for our members, host institutions, and the communities in which we live. To reach these goals we recruit men who strive to be scholars, leaders, athletes, and gentlemen.

Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity is a social fraternity that was founded in 1986 at the University of Iowa. It is based on cultural understanding and wisdom. Most noteworthy is that 18 men of whom 16 were of Latin American or Hispanic origin/descent founded Sigma Lambda Beta. The Delta Beta chapter was founded at the University of Nebraska at Omaha on March 31, 2000 at 6:31:04 PM by nine brothers. Those brothers being Edgar DeLeon, Armando Salgado, Jake Jokerst, Marcos Rodriguez, Glenn Lewis, Jesse Ramirez, Antonio Guardiola, Jorge Gomez, and Jesus Sanchez.

Sigma Lambda Beta was founded on these four principals:

• Brotherhood
• Scholarship
• Community Service
• Cultural Awareness

It is the mission of Sigma Lambda Beta to recruit quality prospective members who are confident and not afraid to express or share their personal thoughts. They must be ready to grow not only as a person, but also as a brother of the Fraternity and a member of their community. As members, Brothers will learn to "open" their eyes and see the endless opportunities that are available to all people.

Furthermore, they will share thoughts and ideas, and learn to recognize the potential that we, as a united whole, can and will exhibit in order to keep our shared values alive and working

For over 100 years, Sigma Phi Epsilon has a strong tradition of shaping the minds of young men with three simple principals: Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love. It is the largest national fraternity with the best grade point average. UNO SigEp currently has the Philanthropy Cup, the Grades Cup for the fifth year in a row, and has won the Sports Cup 13 out of the past 15 years. We work hard and play harder with men that we truly call brothers. With a path to leadership well intact, you need only to ask yourself one question: Are you ready for the challenge? We are destroying the Fratboy Image one Brother at a Time.

With nearly 60 years under our belt as Theta Chi, we are UNO’s first national fraternity. We live by and stand by our motto, “The Helping Hand”, raising nearly $1000 in 2007 and early 2008 for the Stephen Center, a local shelter. We also participated in Habitat for Humanity, Race for the Cure, and every year we help out the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s annual fundraiser. Because of our shared history and nearly unbreakable bonds which constantly grow stronger, we always strive to make each other better brothers, citizens, and ultimately better men. The Helping Hand can be seen in everything that we do, and is essential in what makes us, in our opinion, the strongest brotherhood at UNO.
